Area Information

Saskatoon is a large city of 200,000 plus people in southern Saskatchewan. TCU place is one of the great venues here and hosts festivals and concerts. The Saskatoon orchestra house is host to collages and high schools, plays, and theater productions. For bigger shows there is the Credit Union Centre that can hold 15,000 people. Joni Mitchell is a fan favorite and comes from here.

Folk festivals and a big jazz festival are here as well as other smaller festivals. Saskatoon has hosted a free antique auto show for 25 years now. There have been counts of 800 automobiles here. There are poker derbies and a show and shine event, dances and plenty of food. Pioneer days is also a popular festival in the summer. For those who like their entertainment a little on the saucy side, Saskatoon has a burlesque group too.

An old-fashioned drive-in movie still stands. There is a giant multi plex. We must mention ice hockey because it is one of the most popular things to do. The city has many amateur teams and leagues. So put on your ice skates and hit somebody.
